I play to have fun, regardless of the score....and of course, whenever the opportunity arises, to beat Little Walley (my brother) by a stroke or two. |

Golf Trip VI, 31 Jul - 11 Aug 2012 Are you freezing like me this winter...why not consider some warm weather golf duringSeptember, on 5-star courses. ..come on, pamper yourself just once. Later tee times, playing only the best courses (usually twice), and allowing time to experience local culture for those who want to take a day off. Relax, have fun, and leave the hard part to me.... |

Got up at 5am...frozen because our house has no insulation and the outside temp was hovering at 32 deg. Pulled on some clothes, made coffee and got into the van...did I mention seeing my daughter's friend sneak out of the house around then. Barely made it to the renduvous point on time, but made all the lights and joined Nardo, Ron and Kyle. A revelation! no wind and clear skies...almost like finding a Japanese version of Shangrila. Some of our shots could have been better, but not the weather. I'm surprised Kyle didn't utter quacking sounds from the tee box, as his drives consistently ducked left...Ron was the only one of us strong enough to get a tee into the frozen ground, and even he teed off with a 3 wood to avoid the issue. Finally the ground thawed a bit, shots flew more accurately, and we all had a great time. It's always the same; I hate winter golf until I actually hit the ball. Then ir's okay again and somehow I talk myself into coming back the next week. And next week I should have a set of Burner 2.0 irons, which will, of course, improve my outlook on life. |
